Two weeks ago Sarunas Jasikevicius traveled to Kaunas in order to attend the celebration for the 10 year anniversary of winning the gold medal in Eurobasket 2003. That’s when Zalgiris Kaunas made its move with the help of a legend. Arvydas Sabonis traveled for one day from Slovenia to Lithuania in order to attend the celebration and he spoke with Saras, along with the brass of Zalgiris in order to persuade him to play for the Lithuanian champions.
Αccording to sources close to situation, Sabonis explained to Jasikevicius that now the situation is different in Zalgiris and as Saras said upon his arrival this afternoon in Lithuania: “I am ready to sign the contract. The management of the team in serious, the theater is over”. Of course he was referring to the previous owner, Vladimir Radmanov, a wanted man now accused for financial crimes.
