The interview of Joan Plaza to OTE TV and journalist Kostas Katevas was about Unicaja and Olympiacos. However, when he was asked if we would see him coaching a team in Greece, he surprised every one with his answer: “It’s a dream to coach the Greek national team. It will be great to coach that team, I have absolute respect to Greek basketball players”.
However, you may remember that last year, just before the hiring of Andrea Trinkieri and after Fotsis Katsikaris deciding to be the coach of the Russian national team, Plaza was at one point the favorite for the job, when he was also the coach of Zalgiris Kaunas. That been said, as a coach of Liga Endesa, he doesn’t have the right to be also a part time national team coach.
