As we have reported one day before, EA7 Milano finally announced the signing of former Aris player Giannis Athinaiou. However the Italian contenders were not the only big name team interested in the Greek guard.
As Panathinaikos was examining the possible options for a Top16 addition, Athinaou’s name was also mentioned. However the team decided that Zack Wright was the player they needed and the idea of getting Athinaou from Aris was quickly abandoned. Still the Greek guard will have his chance to compete for a title in the Italian league and he has to respond to a very big challenge.
