Maccabi’s offer lower than Blatt’s demands

After winning the Euroleague, coach David Blatt is a hot commodity, and it’s not a secret that CSKA Moscow has already approached him. Still, Blatt has openly said that he doesn’t exclude staying at Tel Aviv, provided he gets the “right offer” from Maccabi.

The negotiations between the two sides have started, however according to Eurohoops sources, the gap between them is pretty wide at this point. Maccabi is offering a two years extension until the summer of 2017 and 800.000 dollars per season – Blatt has a contract for next season, but also a modest buy out clause – while the coach wants a four years extension (until 2019) and a million dollars per season.

In theory what Blatt asks is not that much, considering the rumors of CSKA Moscow offering him at least 3 million dollars for the next two seasons.
