A tweet by Aaron Jackson was enough and now the cat is out of the bag. The former player of coach Fotis Katsikaris wants him in Madrid and it seems that’s this scenario is more than possible, despite the fact that coach Laso has a contract until 2016.
Katsikaris was recently linked with Unics Kazan – the agent of coach Pedoulakis traveled there today, but that’s an other story – and Darussafaka. In both cases he demanded more time in order to give an answer because there’s interest for him from Spain. Despite the fact that he is also the coach of the Greek national team and that in theory prevents him from coaching in Liga Endesa, his part time contract with the Greek federation expires after the end of FIBA World Cup, so he can have a deal with a team, but sign the contract in September, like it was done in the past with former Spanish national team coach Aito Garcia Reneses.
If Laso has to pay the price for Real’s failure, than Katsikaris is the top candidate to replace him.
