The decision of the disciplinary committee of the Turkish federation about the punishment of Galatasaray for forfeiting Game 7 of the TBL finals was announced today and it’s not what you may have expected. Galatasaray will have to pay a fine of just 5.500 euros and also three members of its brass, Unal Aysal, Mehmet Karlı and Necati Demirkol will be under prohibition for 45 days.
In similar situations, other European leagues are usually imposing a penalty of minus points in the standings of next season’s regular season and that’s why Galatasaray should be more than happy with this punishment.
