On Monday the board of Galatasaray decided to cut the ties of the team with Nolan Smith. However, as it’s more than evident at this point, the “towel-incident” which led the player out of the team was just the tip of the iceberg as the team faces big financial issues.

The management tries to resolve those problems, but with players’ salaries not being paid, the team is under crisis. According to Eurohoops sources at least six more players are considering the option of leaving the team. Among them, Carlos Arroyo, Furkan Aldemir, Ender Arslan, Marty Pocius and Nate Jawai are waiting specific answers about the financial situation of the team in the following days and it remains to be seen if money can be found by the club.

UPDATE: As the club’s GM Murat Ozyer wrote on the 30th of October via twitter the salaries of the team will be paid until the end of the week. That means the players will be ready to go against Laboral Kutxa with the exception of Pocius due to back pains.
