Coach Argiris Pedoulakis is still a member of Unics Kazan, however at this point it seems to be only a matter of time of him being replaced and Russian national team coach Evgeny Pashutin is the favorite to get the job.
The countdown for the change of coaches has started after the statements of team president Evgeny Bogachev in Itar-Tass news agency, accusing Pedoulakis of having lost control of the team because he is not fluent in English and he uses a translator. However the management of the team wants the next coach to be Russian and Pashutin is the main candidate according to Russian sources. It remains to be seen if Unics willl wait for the upcoming Euroleague game against Anadolu Efes before making its decision. That been said, the roster seems also to be an issue with many players being interested more on their numbers and not on how to help their team win.
Update: The Russian club officially announced the arrival of coach Pashutin to Kazan, as the contract with Argiris Pedoulakis is terminated. It was a complex situation with Pashutin being also a candidate for Trabzonspor, however in the end he ended up in Russia.
