One of the biggest “transfer steals” during the summer was made by Panathinaikos. Dusko Ivanovic picked A.J. Slaughter and he feels already blessed for his choice. Seven games after the start of the season he’s the leading scorer of his team (12,1 points per game) with an amazing 42% in 3ps. But it’s completely strange the difference in the numbers of Slaughter at home and on road!
The American guard who is rookie in the Eurolegue made an impressive start in the season and vs Bayern he had one more excellent game, much better than in Munich in the first round. It’s not weird or matter of coincidence. A.J. Slaughter is much better when he plays in front of Panathinaikos’ fans. He shots with 56% in 3ps and scores 16,75 points per game. On the other hand, on road he has 6 points per game and only 10% (1/10 shots) in 3ps!
So, on road he’s like Dr. Jekyll and at home like Mr. Hyde. It’s normal for an American player without experience in the highest level of the European basketball and Euroleague but the difference is really impressive…
