After surpassing Mike Batiste last week, Vassilis Spanoulis needs just three more points in order to be the third all time scorer in Euroleague over Jaka Lakovic. However he aims for the top as he said to an interview to the official Olympiacos youtube chanel.
Spanoulis has in total 2522 career points in 181 Euroleague games, Lakovic is third in the all time list with 2524 points in 218 games, Marcus Brown is second (2739 p., 179 g.) and Juan Carlos Navarro is the all time leading scorer with 3546 points in 265 games. The leader of Barcelona has an average of 13.38 ppg and Spanoulis is a little bit better with an average of 13.93.
So can he hunt the top? At least he wants to, as he said in the end of his interview smiling slyly: “Ι hope to stay healthy and play for some more years. For sure Navarro is one of the biggest scorers in the history of European courts, he has played much more games than me. He have played much more seasons in Euroleague. I hope that when he retires, I will still be healthy and have fresh legs and then why not? If I can do surpass him, it will be good. In any case, what I care about is to help my team be successful”.
