Milos Teodosic dished 14 assists in the game of CSKA against Unicaja, Taylor Rochestie surpassed him the next day with 15. And one day later, DJ Cooper destroyed everything by dishing 23 assists in the last game of Enisey in the Vtb League!
The owner of the Euroleague record is Marcus Williams after his 17 in the epic game of Crvena Zvezda against Galatasaray after two extra periods in the regular season. Milos Teodosic recorded 14 and made the new Top 16 best performance. But, just one day later Taylor Rochestie dished 15 in the game of Nizhny against Efes and achieved to set a fresh one!
Although DJ Cooper of Enisey smashed any known record in the Vtb league after his 23 assists against Astana. The American guard started the season with 17 assists vs Riga and after 16 games he has 8,5 assists per game in the Vtb league. Meanwhile, last season in his rookie professional year he averaged 6,6 assists per game with PAOK.
What does that show? First of all, there are still great play makers with the “old school” meaning. Moreover, the European basketball is getting closer to the NBA; Every team has more possessions because of the rules changing and also the nature of the sport is to become more spectacular and fast. And with point guards like Teodosic, Rochestie, Williams and Cooper dishing the ball with selfness and imagination, we will enjoy the game more.
