He has a lifetime opportunity and he didn’t want to miss it. George Bartzokas did well, as he succeed Dusan Ivkovic as head coach of Olympiacos, but he almost got “betrayed” by the meeting between his former employer and his (soon to be) successor!
Ilias Lianos president of Panionios met last Tuesday with Giannis Sfairopoulos, after he found out about the second meeting between George Bartzokas and Agelopoulos’ brothers last Wednesday. During this meeting the two sides shook hands and the next day Eurohoops.net reported that Bartzokas was on the way to Piraeus and Sfairopoulos on the way to Nea Smyrni.
Now what’s missing, is the new approach of Lianos to Sfairopoulos (who’s already in Houston taking part in Rockets’ practices) in order for them to bridge the economical gap of the first meeting.
