The “El Grafico” will not be a frequent contributor to Eurohoops, but when he does appear, his posts will be more than unusual. As you guested from his nickname, he is a peculiar fellow and if this has to do with his affections to graphics, or his silly ideas, is an answer that belongs to you, the readers.
So his latest idea is how the football teams would look like, if the basketball players of the club were used.
Faccundo Campazzo. The best ever defensive midfielder! A mix between Cambiasso and Juan Pablo Sorin. The captain Felipe Reyes with his ability to guess where the ball will end up in the rebounds, would make a great goalkeeper. Bourousis and Slaughter will be the defensive duo full of athletism and strengh, while Serhio Llull would be a great offensive midfielder.
The number “10” would be Sergio Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez would be a great replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo. The striker couldn’ be anyone else than Argentinian Andres Nocioni, Carroll will be the right winger, while Maciulis and Rivers the side backs.
Barcelona
“La Bomba” Navarro and Huertas will make the crosses which will end up to the “striker” Abrines. Add the fact that both Navarro and Huertas can also shoot from a distance, while Oleson can do the same, you can have the most offensive team ever, even compared to the football section of the club.
Nachbar and Satoransky would make a great midfield duo and in defense Tomic with the super quick Jackson can also make a difference. The goal keeper would be Lampe, who was a “center for” when his career started. Hezonja and Thomas will be the backs, which will also help more than usual in offense.
Spanoulis and Sloukas will play on the two offensive sides, being gifted scorers and passers. Slaughter and Pappas will be the offensive threats in the winds, while Antonis Fotsis will be the center for, always ready for any cross. In defense, Mavrokefalidis would use his skills in order to help also the offensive game and Nelson will cover any hole due to his tenacity and quickness. Blums and Bochoridis would be the valuable side backs.
Fenerbahce/ Ulker
That’s a really tall team and very skilled in set pieces, thanks to coach Obradovic. Bogdanovic would play at center for, while Goudelock would be raising hell on the right side of the offense. Hickman will play on the left and behind them, Zisis will act as usual, being the play maker.
All the big bodies of the team will stay behind, in order to control every cross with a header and being always ready to score in set pieces. Savas and Bjelica will be in the center of the defense, despite the fact that Bjelica can also be a play maker, a case of a Serbian Yaya Toure. Mahmutoglu and Sipahi would be the side backs, while Preldzic and Cetin will control the midfield, ready to go any time on offense.
