On the day of Euroleague playoffs Game 4 in Greece between Olympiacos and Barcelona – which decided the fate of the Spaniards – Mario Hezonja wasn’t used, but almost on the same time it was announced that he entered the NBA draft.
The GM of the Suns Ryan McDonough was in attendance, however the fact that Hezonja wasn’t used, doesn’t change anything on the big picture. The relationship between the player and Barcelona seems to be near its end and only one thing remains to be seen. Hezonja, who is projected to be picked even in the Top5, has a 2 million euros buy out in his contract with Barcelona and that seems to be the only thing which could keep him in Spain.
Hezonja will have to pay the buy out mostly out of his own pocket, as the NBA franchise which will pick him can only give 600.000 US dollars for a buy out. In order for him to afford doing so, he must be picked as high as possible…
