Milos Teodosic dropped the bomb in the practice before the semifinal against Olympiacos. As he said to the Croatian newspaper “Sportske Novosti”: “I will not play in the Serbian national team again, if they add a naturalized player”.
Teodosic was more than firm about his stance: “If this happens, then I will never again go to a national team game, even as a fan. For me it’s not something normal. I will always use the players that we have, no matter if we could win gold, or end up in the 10th place. Even if a naturalized player could make us champions, I wouldn’t accept it. We like to creat real players and real teams. Not to add some one who has no connection to our country”. According to FIBA rules every national team has the right to use one naturalized player and this became a trend in recent years. However the Serbian national team in any case doesn’t seem willing to naturalize any player.
