Messolonghi Baxi became the first team with three wins in the Greek league. AEK followed in dramatic fashion later Saturday.
Messolonghi Baxi – Ionikos Hellenic Coin 79-66
Devonte Green, Danny’s younger brother, poured a game-high 24 points pushing his side to a 3-0 start. Giannis Agravanis and Chad Brown combined for 39 more points.
Both Adam Smith and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick ended up with 16 points in a losing effort.
Peristeri winmasters – AEK 62-66
A late 13-0 run fueled by Matt Lojeski bumped the Queen to the away victory. Lojeski sinking four threes down the stretch raised a game-high 17 points in the low-scoring affair.
Giannis Athinaiou and Loukas Mavrokefalidis led the hosts with 12 points apiece.
Panathinaikos – PAOK 96-67
Howard Sant-Roos scored 15 for the victors who logged their second win this season in Greece while Kostas Mitoglou added 13 and Ioannis Pappetrou 12 points.
For PAOK, Jermaine Love scored 17 and Elston Turner 15 points.
Iraklis – Kolossos H Hotels 66-65
The home side held on for the slim victory and a 3-1 start. Ten points each were enough for Scott Suggs and Michalis Tsairelis to share the team-high.
Theodoros Zaras posted 20 points against his former team but was on the wrong end of the result of the rescheduled game.
Lavrio – Aris 92-71
Glenn Cosey banked in 22 points for the winning side while Alpha Diallo added 16. Vassilis Mouratos logged 11 points and ten assists.
For Aris, Ioannis Kouzeloglou scored 19 and Vladimir Dragicevic 12 points.
