Promitheas Patras guard Jerian Grant had a special person in attendance of his team’s 68 – 66 win over Lavrio for the Greek League semifinals: His younger brother and Detroit Pistons forward Jerami.
“I’ve played in front of him plenty of times,” Jerian Grant said to the Greek national television after the game. “It’s just great to have him out here, great to have my family here.”
He was then asked if he’d dedicate the win to his brother. “For sure,” he answered. Jerami and Jerian’s older brother Jerai also plays in Promitheas but missed the game due to injury.
Jerami Grant saw Jerai contributing 10 points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals in a victory that gave Promitheas a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-five semifinal series. The matches now move at Lavrio and Grant and his team can make the championship series with a win.
“We got to finish,” Grant said. “We got to play better than we played today and better than we played in the first game because we know they are going to come out strong.”
“They are a good team, they finished second in the league. We know we’re going to be up for a battle,” he added.
