Olympiacos got the job done in the Greek Cup, getting a convincing 110-85 win over Ionikos and advancing to the Final Four, for the first time since 2019.
The Reds couldn’t count on Kostas Sloukas, Thomas Walkup and Quincy Acy but that impact the outcome at all. Olympiacos was up by 20 already at halftime (61-41), and after holding off an 11-0 run by Ionikos to start the third quarter, they cruised back to victory.
Shaw McKissic led the way with 17 points with Michalis Lountzis adding the same number. Moustapha Fall scored 13 and Kostas Papnikolau 12 points.
For Ionikos, Eugene German banked in 22 and Nikos Chougkaz 16 points.
Meanwhile, depleted AEK due to COVID (three cases) and injuries got the 90-77 win and also qualified for the Greek Cup Final Four. Brian Angola with 31 points got the job done for the winning team.
The Greek Cup’s final stage will be held in Heraklion and the matchups will be decided with a draw. The other two quarterfinal matchups are yet to be played: Promitheas – PAOK, Panathinaikos – Lavrio.
