Four days after the loss versus Fenerbahce Beko, Olympiacos made short work of Ionikos, 109-65, Saturday.
Sasha Vezenkov made out a game-high 16 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 18:27. Giannoulis Larentzakis added 15 points. Moustapha Fall and Tyler Dorsey followed with 13 points each. Quincy Acy had 12 points after being limited to one point over his first four appearances with the Greek powerhouse.
The Reds jumped right into a double-digit lead scoring the first ten points of the Stoiximan Basket League Regular Season Round 12 game. From there and without missing a beat, the team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas went up to 9-1 at the domestic level.
Based on the win-loss points system, Olympiacos jumped into the lead with 19 points. Promitheas and Kolossos H Hotels carrying 7-4 records are tied at 18 points. Panathinaikos OPAP following at 8-1 and 17 points is scheduled to visit Apollon Oscar Monday.
Shaquielle McKissic did not suit up after suffering a minor injury against Fener. The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 20 loss at Istanbul forced Olympiacos down to 12-6. Up next on the schedule, a visit to Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv in Round 22 Thursday.
Coming off the disappointing exit from the Basketball Champions League, PAOK mateco defeated Kolossos, 86-80. Marvin Jones tallied a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double as his side jumped to 4-6. The visitors fell to 7-4.
Also, Larisa edged Aris, 84-81. The Greek league was paused since December 29 due to COVID-19 cases affecting multiple teams.
