Panathinaikos OPAP beat Promitheas, 85-68, in the Greek Cup Final Four opener Friday.

Nemanja Nedovic was held to 4/16 field goals but was key in the comeback win packing 17 points. Former NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner Jeremy Evans posted a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double. Daryl Macon, Giorgos Papagiannis, and Okaro White all finished with 12 points.

Missing captain Ioannis Papapetrou (nose), the Greens recovered from a sluggish start to defeat the team from Patras at Iraklio. Promitheas, despite ruling out Jerai Grant, Nikos Gkikas, Isaiah Miles, and Charis Giannopoulos, and coming off a recent COVID-19 crisis, jumped to an early 14-point lead.

Experienced guard Kendrick Ray registered a game-high 19 points in the losing effort. Former Olympiacos big man Dimitris Agravanis ended up with 14 points and nine rebounds.

The team coached by Dimitris Priftis advanced to the Greek Cup championship game, scheduled to wrap up the Final Four Sunday. Fellow Turkish Airlines EuroLeague outlet Olympiacos will meet AEK in the second semifinal (19:00 CET).
