The second Greek derby of the season between Olympiacos Piraeus and Panathinaikos Athens is on the horizon, but the first one for Dwayne Bacon (Monday, 18.15 p.m. CET).
The small forward of the Greens came to Greece a month ago and helped Dejan Radonjic’s team improve significantly, but now the time has come for him to stand face-to-face with Panatihinaikos’s biggest rival.
“I know the rivalry with Olympiakos, which played a role in my arrival. With my addition, I believe we can beat them“, Bacon said upon his arrival to Greece.
The 27-year-old already had a significant impact with the Greens, scoring 18,5 points on average in six matches in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
He stressed that Olympiacos has a good team, but the same applies to the team from OAKA.
“I don’t know what to expect. I am always ready to play, whoever the opponent is. Olympiacos has a good team, but I feel that we also have a good team“, a former NBA player said to Eurohoops.
Bacon believes Panathinaikos has a good chance of winning and tying the score in this season’s derbies after losing the Supercup final to the Red and Whites 52-67.
“It’s going to be a battle. We can win. What counts is to go out on the court and play smart and correctly, play good defense. It will be a great battle“, Dwayne Bacon concluded.
