Marius Grigonis or Matt Thomas in Panathinaikos? This is the dilemma that coach Christos Serelis was asked to answer for the rest of the regular season in the Basket League until the start of the playoffs. The decision was made and the answer was given: Marius Grigonis.
Super Marius was announced in place of Andrew Andrews, who is now a thing of the past as far as Panathinaikos is concerned.
The 6+1 foreigners with the right to participate in the rest of the regular season in the Basket League in Greece are Marius Grigonis, Nate Walters, Paris Lee, Derrick Williams, Dwayne Bacon, Mateusz Ponitka, Arturas Gudaitis.
That was the last change of foreign player that Panathinaikos had the right to make, so Matt Thomas will finish his season with Panathinaikos at the end of the EuroLeague season.
Meanwhile, Ponitka will miss Sunday’s Greek league game against Olympiacos due to injury.
