Peristeri sinks Panathinaikos

It seems impossible, but Panathinaikos already has six losses this season in the domestic competition. The Greens lost again in round 22 against Peristeri and coach Vassilis Spanoulis 96-89. It’s the worst record in the Greek league since 1996-97 for Panathinaikos.

The home team played with a fighting spirit for the entire 40 minutes and got the biggest win of the season for coach Vassilis Spanoulis. An incredible offensive fourth quarter got the job done for Peristeri who scored 31 points in that period.

Marcus Denmon led the way with 22 points, while Ian Hummer followed with 17. For Panathinaikos, it was all Paris Lee with 30 points.

Olympiacos on the other hand got another win, number 22 of the season. Olympiacos got a big road win over AEK 85-78. Aleksandar Vezenkov recorded 20 points and seven rebounds, while Brynton Lemar had 17 points for AEK.

It was the last round of the regular season in the Greek league with Karditsa beating on Saturday Ionikos 85-83. Ionikos ended up being the only team being relegated after this result.
