Panathinaikos Athens beat Peristeri BC 89 – 80 in Game 3 of the Greek League semifinals to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. Game 4 takes place at Peristeri Saturday (27/5).
Marius Grigonis scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the efforts of Panathinaikos. Mateusz Ponitka provided 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals while Paris Lee added 16 points of his own and six dimes.
Sylvain Francisco (19 points, nine assists), Marcus Denmon (13 points) and Dimitris Moraitis (12 points) stood out from Peristeri.
The two teams were tied at 49 at halftime but Panathinaikos began the third period with a 22-4 run. The hosts established a double-digit lead and never looked back.
