In the first home game after the loss to Real Madrid in the EuroLeague final, Olympiacos Piraeus convincingly defeated PAOK 75-54 and advanced to the Greek League final with a 3-0 score in the semifinal series.
Around 7.000 fans showed great support for Giorgios Bartzokas’ team for the first time in Peace and Friendship Stadium after the defeat in the final moments of the EuroLeague Championship Game and pushed Olympiacos to another win on the path of defending the Greek crown.
The EuroLeague’s top scorer and MVP, Sasha Vezenkov, with 19 points, and Kostas Sloukas, with 17 points with eight assists, led the Piraeus side to a crucial semifinal win, while Thomas Walkup added 10 points.
For PAOK, who gave a good fight to the favorites in the second quarter but failed to pair with Olympiacos in the third and fourth, Jordan Sibert had 14 and Jaylen Hands 11 points.
The Thessaloniki team finishes the season, while Olympiacos moved to its 24th final in the top tier level of professional basketball in Greece and is waiting for the opponent, as the second semifinal series is tied 2-2 after four games between Panathinaikos and Peristeri.
