Sasha Vezenkov dropped on the floor after a hard foul by Panathinaikos guard Lefteris Bochorides and left the game two minutes before the end of the third period in Game 2 of the Greek league Finals between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos.
The EuroLeague MVP went straight to the hospital for tests on his right knee. He had an MRI, which revealed a bone edema on the posterior surface of the medial tibial condyle of the right knee.
The worst case scenario has been avoided and it remains to be seen if he will be able to return to action in time for the series. However with Game 3 being held on Sunday, his participation in the contest is highly doubtful.
Meanwhile, Bochorides was devastated by the injury of his opponent and was in tears in the locker room after the game, while he also visited Olympiacos locker room to check on Vezenkov, but was informed that he had already left for tests.
Panathinaikos won Game 2 and tied the series at 1-1 while Olympiacos is protesting for the refereeing decisions.
