Panathinaikos survives Peristeri in the last seconds

Panathinaikos Athens came back from down 19 points against Peristeri and ultimately got a 66 – 64 away victory thanks to a tip-in by Mathias Lessort with seven seconds remaining.

Nemanja Dangubic missed the shot to win the game for Peristeri as his team remained scoreless in the last 3:31 minutes after going up 64 – 59. Vassilis Spanoulis’ players led for almost the entire game and were ahead 47 – 29 in the third period but didn’t manage to hold their advantage until the end.

Marius Grigonis led Panathinaikos with 20 points, including big buckets in the last quarter and the 3-point play that tied the game at 64 with 80 seconds to play. Panagiotis Kalaitzakis scored 16 points and was called the “hero of the game” by Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman.

Nate Renfro (12 points, six rebounds) and Kenny Williams (11 points, five rebounds) scored in double figures from Peristeri.
