Panathinaikos gets 52-point win in Greek League

Panathinaikos Athens returned to Greek League action by crushing Apollon Patras 112 – 60 to remain the only undefeated team in the championship five rounds into the season.

“After the loss to Barcelona we entered this game really concentrated,” said Panathinaikos center Olek Balcerowski after the game to the Greek National Television. He finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. “We knew the opponent we had and did what we had to do to win the game.”

Dimitris Moraitis scored a game-high 16 points plus five assists for Panathinaikos, a couple of days after registering positive minutes at Barcelona. Juancho Hernangomez added 13 points plus 11 rebounds for the Greens who entered the game leading 33-12 in the first quarter and never looked back, finishing with 19/33 triples.

Desmond Washington was the only Apollon player in double figures with 13 points. His team dropped to 1-4.

Panathinaikos will be facing ALBA Berlin on the road Friday (10/11), looking to bounce back at the EuroLeague level after starting the season with four defeats in six games.
