A close call for Panathinaikos, edging out AEK Betsson behind closed doors in OAKA.
After dropping a double-digit lead, the team coached by Ergin Ataman recovered down the stretch to secure the 86-85 victory on Monday.
Kendrick Nunn stood out piling up 18 points, including two free throws for a one-point lead with 13.4 seconds on the clock. Holding on the defensive end pushed the Stoiximan Basket League Regular Season tally to 7-0 and forced the visitors to 3-4.
“Each game I am playing better. I am getting more comfortable,” Nunn told Greek public television ERT after deciding the Round 7 contest of Greece’s top-tier division. The 28-year-old guard also produced six rebounds, four assists, and three steals over 24 minutes.
Besides Ioannis Papapetrou (left knee surgery) and Juancho Hernangomez (finger surgery) on the injury list, Kyle Guy was once more the odd one out of the list of foreign players suiting up for the Greens in the domestic league. Similarly, AEK ruled out Jordan McRae, partially due to a minor knee issue.
