Olympiacos Piraeus was particularly dominant in the second half against Peristeri to grab an 85 – 67 away win and improve to 17 – 2 in the Greek League. Peristeri dropped to 12 – 7.
Alec Peters scored 19 points (on 8-10 shots) and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Olympiacos. Isaiah Canaan had 13 points plus six steals, Michalis Lountzis dropped 12 points and Filip Petrusev added 10 points for the Reds that were without guards Nigel Williams-Goss, Giannoulis Larentzakis and Naz Mitrou-Long.
Olympicos starting guard Thomas Walkup hurt his ankle late in the first quarter and had to sit out the rest of the game as a precaution. His team closed halftime up 39 – 48 and overpowered Peristeri 9 – 22 in the third period to turn the game into a rout.
Elijah Mitrou-Long (14 points, five steals), Trevor Thompson (10 points) and Nikos Chougkaz (10 points) scored in double figures for Peristeri. Coach Vassilis Spanoulis was ejected in the fourth period with his second technical foul.
