Alec Peters and Isaiah Canaan combined for more than half of Olympiacos Piraeus’ points as their side beat Peristeri Athens 83 – 72 at home in Game 1 of the best-of-three Greek League semifinal series. It was the Reds’ first game after the EuroLeague Final Four where the team finished third.

Peters finished with 22 points (5-7 triples) plus eight rebounds while Canaan delivered 22 points (6-7 threes) of his own in just 20:00. The former had eight of his points in less than two minutes down the stretch to make it 78 – 64 with four minutes to play.

Joe Ragland led Peristeri with 23 points plus five assists. His team was quite competitive for 22 minutes but with the score 42 – 40, Olympiacos made an 18 – 5 run to build a double-digit advantage. Vassilis Spanoulis’ side cut the deficit to six before Peters’ late eruption.
