After Game 2 of the Greek League Finals with Olympiacos leading 2-0 and one win away from the title, the club announced that they intend to file an official complaint to Greek authorities against Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
The owner of Panathinaikos was commentating refereeing decisions during the game via his IG account making insulting remarks about the referees, the Greek basketball federation and even the Greek government.
According to Greek sports law, this can be considered detrimental behaviour towards sports and already Panathinaikos and coach Ergin Ataman were fined for their behaviour after Game 1.
Per the press release: “OLYMPIAKOS BC will file a complaint against the owner of Panathinaikos BC for the vile, vomitous and threatening things he says against the Government, the Hellenic Basketball Federation and the referees of the second final through his personal Instagram account.
At the same time, we are waiting for the immediate reaction of the Government and the leadership of Greek sports”
