Panathinaikos Aktor defeating archrival Olympiacos in the Peace and Friendship Stadium, SEF, tied a best-of-five series at 2-2 on Wednesday. Talking about the explosive showing of Kendrick Nunn in Game 4 of the Stoiximan Basket League Finals, Jerian Grant revealed a clear plan set by head coach Ergin Ataman.
“When you got a player like that, you just give him the ball and get out of the way,” the 31-year-old point guard referred to Nunn, “I think I tried to do something. I turned the ball over. And coach yelled to me, ‘Just give him the ball’. For the rest of the fourth quarter, that is what we did.”
“When we saw Kendrick Nunn start scoring, we gave him the ball,” shaped a similar recap of the second half by Turkish play-caller Ataman.
Nunn scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half, leading his side to a huge win on the road to avoid the knockout blow from the Reds. At 2-2, the series instead switches to home court for a deciding Game 5 on Friday.
