Kendrick Nunn scored 27 points on 12-13 shots as Panathinaikos Athens beat PAOK Thessaloniki 96 – 93 on the road to remain undefeated two rounds into the Greek League regular season.
Mathias Lessort added 17 points and nine rebounds for Panathinaikos. Jerian Grant (9 points) made a couple of key buckets down the stretch that put the Greens up 85 – 89 and 90 – 94 with 14 seconds remaining. Dinos Mitoglou then hit a pair of free throws to secure his team’s victory, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds himself.
Frank Bartley (2o points, seven assists) and Shavan Reynolds (20 points, five assists) led a big PAOK effort. Their team led 70 – 62 near the end of the third quarter but Panathinaikos made a 1-11 run in the fourth period to go ahead 73 – 78. The reigning champions retained an advantage for the rest of the game.
