Panathinaikos escapes Kolossos threat in Rhodes, Olympiacos routs PAOK

Directly to Rhodes from Bologna, following a double-game week in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Panathinaikos Aktor escaped the threat posed by Kolossos H Hotels and prevailed, 89-84, on Sunday.

“After a tough double-game week for us, it was not easy to come here,” noted head coach Ergin Ataman after leading his side to 7-0 in Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Regular Season.

With a win at home against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and taking down Virtus Segafredo Bologna on Friday, the Greens went up to 7-3 in the EuroLeague, earlier in a demanding week.

In Round 7 of the domestic league, Omer Yurtseven piled up 20 points. Kendrick Nunn followed with 19 points alongside six rebounds, five assists, and one steal. Juancho Hernangomez added 15 points and nine rebounds.

Jerian Grant was not registered for the domestic affair. Injured Kostas Antetokounmpo and Marius Grigonis were out as well. Dimitris Moraitis and Alexandros Samontourov suited up but did not play.

On the losing end, Andrew Goudelock produced a game-high 25 points.

Olympiacos strolls pasts PAOK

In more Sunday action, a one-sided contest in PAOK Sports Arena with Olympiacos dominating PAOK mateco and ending up with a 90-60 victory.

After putting up 20 points in 16 minutes, Sasha Vezenkov did not play in the second half due to a foot injury. Captain Kostas Papanikolaou followed with 15 points and Moses Wright tallied 13 points.

Tyler Dorsey, Keenan Evans, Evan Fournier, and Shaquielle McKissic were unavailable for the team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas. Resting, Nikola Milutinov did not enter the court.
