Panathinaikos and Olympiacos collect wins, Avdalas shines with Peristeri

Extending the perfect start in the Stoiximan GBL Regular Season to eleven games, Panathinaikos Aktor demolished Aris Midea, 126-74, in OAKA Altion on Sunday.

Among seven double-digit scorers for the team coached by Ergin Ataman, Cedi Osman dropped 19 points, a new individual best for the 2024-25 campaign. Kendrick Nunn followed with 17 points and also dished out six assists.

Besides Marius Grigonis and Mathias Lessort stuck on the injury list, Kostas Antetokounmpo was scratched due to illness.

Comfortable win for Olympiacos

In the Peace and Friendship Stadium, Olympiacos sidestepped a slow start and took down Marousi, 106-94. A new season-high with 21 points for Alec Peters behind 7/10 field goals, including four three-pointers. Sasha Vezenkov tucked in 6/9 from the field, including 5/5 from inside the arc to to fuel a team total of 24/27 two-pointers and follow with 17 points.

Between setbacks and league restrictions on the lineup, Keenan Evans, Shaquielle McKissic, Naz Mitrou-Long, and Moses Wright were all unavailable. Evan Fournier suited up but Giorgos Bartzokas opted to rest the French superstar.

Recent signing Nathan Mensah was also sidelined but is expected to arrive in Greece on Monday to join the daily team schedule and work toward his debut with the Reds.

Neoklis Avdalas drops 23 points

In Rhodes, Peristeri Domino’s stormed back from a 17-point deficit and escaped with an 80-78 victory versus Kolossos H Hotels. Jarell Eddie knocked down a go-ahead three-pointer in the dying seconds of the nail-biter.

Meanwhile, NBA draft prospect Neoklis Avdalas poured in a career-high 23 points. The 18-year-old guard made 8/13 from the field, including three triples. He also recorded four rebounds and one steal.

On the losing end, Andrew Goudelock tallied a game-high 26 points.
