Panathinaikos wins the Greek derby at OAKA Arena

Even though they entered the match without Dinos Mitoglou and lost Omer Yurtseven to injury midway through the game, Panathinaikos AKTOR found a way to defeat their arch-rival.

After winning on the road in Piraeus, Ergin Ataman’s side took down Olympiacos in a rematch at OAKA Arena, winning 78-72 to stay perfect in the Greek championship with a 15-0 record, handing their rival its second defeat (13-2).

Panathinaikos‘ heroes in another Greek derby were Jerian Grant and Cedi Osman, who scored 18 points each, with the Turkish national team player grabbing six rebounds and making an exceptional contribution in the second half.

Kendrick Nunn followed with 14 points, five rebounds, and six assists, while Kostas Sloukas scored 12 points, adding five assists and four rebounds. Juancho Hernangomez, who played more than 36 minutes due to injuries in the frontcourt, contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.

Omer Yurtseven spent five minutes and 46 seconds on the court before getting injured, adding just one rebound to his stat sheet.

Sasha Vezenkov stood out for Olympiacos, scoring 20 points with eight rebounds, but the Bulgarian international lacked support, with only Alec Peters also finishing in double digits with 11 points. Nikola Milutinov and Kostas Papanikolaou added nine points each.
