Panathinaikos AKTOR defeated Olympiacos Piraeus in the Greek derby to stay perfect in the domestic championship but lost Omer Yurtseven in the process due to injury.
The Turkish center injured his right leg, immediately left for the bench, then headed to the OAKA locker room before being taken to the hospital for further tests.
Initial reports suggested that the former NBA player would be sidelined for a significant period, and Ergin Ataman confirmed the news at the postgame press conference.
“At the end of the match, they told me that he suffered a fracture and will be out for 1-2 months,” Ataman said.
This is undoubtedly a big blow for Panathinaikos, especially with Matthias Lessort also sidelined and expected to remain out for a couple more months.
