In the fourth Final of the Women’s Basketball League in Greece, Olympiacos defeated Panathinaikos 50 – 38 on the road to be crowned champion. However the game did not run exactly smoothly.
With the score 29 – 44 in favor of Olympiacos, and almost five minutes to go for the end of the match, the referees stopped the game because of some certain insulting chants by Panathinaikos‘ fans. After a warning was given, some of the fans reacted by throwing items on court, and the players of Olympiacos went immediately to the locker rooms.
The referees ordered for the gym to be evacuated and only when that happened, did the game continue.
