Ioannis Papapetrou scored 15 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 3 assists, Khem Birch added 12 points plus 6 rebounds as Olympiacos took a comfortable 87 – 70 victory over Apollon in Patras.
The Reds continue leading the Greek League standings having the same record (18-1) with Panathinaikos but possessing a tie-breaking advantage.
Meanwhile, Apollon is struggling within the relegation zone at 5 – 14. Only Anthony Hickey (14 points, 4 rebounds) scored in double figures vs Olympiacos while Dimitris Verginis and Tyler Kalinoski had 9 each, the latter adding 5 rebounds.
Olympiacos became the boss of the game early on, gaining a 26 – 15 at the end of the first quarter. The hosts reacted a bit to close the halftime down by eight, 40 48 but their opponents dominated the third period 13 – 22 and never looked back after it.
Erick Green had 13 for the winning squad and Nikola Milutinov 11.
