One of the Greek league classics took place in Athens, with Panathinaikos (22-1) outstanding the double overtime against AEK (17-6) and prevailing with 87-106.
Chris Singleton led the winners with 22 points, while for the opposing side, Loukas Mavrokefalidis scored 19.
Early in the game, Sotiris Manolopoulos’ team pulled off a 24-18 lead, which soon was covered by Panathinaikos by the end of the first period, 24-23. Still, the Yellow and Black team was in charge of the game even at halftime, 42-41.
AEK stepped into the final period with a 62-57 advantage, however Mike James gave the Greens a 2-point advantage, then Mavrokefalidis tied the score to 66 points. Α brief head by AEK was followed by another tie that led the game to overtime!
Still, no team was able to overcome the other in these five extra minutes, something that led the game in to a second overtime!
Chris Singleton, KC Rivers anfd James Gist stood out in the second overtime for the Greens, pacing their team to a great win.
