It took one storming period for AEK to finish the job in Crete and prevail 70-81 against Rethymno Cretan Kings. Now the team from Athens will have to compete against Panathinaikos, in a best-of-five series.
Roko Leni Ukic led the winners with 18 points, Dimitris Mavroeidis and Milan Milosevic scored 13 points each, while Dusan Sakota also finished in double digits (12 points).
With a three pointer by Ukic, ΑΕΚ reached a double digit lead for the first time in the game (69-58 at 32’), while its lead expanded to +15 points (73-58) a bit later. Rethymno reduced to 70-75 with one minute to go, yet two long distance shots by Larentzakis and Ukic sealed the game for AEK.
