With Giannis Bourousis and Nick Calathes running most of the show, Panathinaikos beat AEK 105 – 67, grabbing its third victory in the semifinals and punching the ticket to the title series.
Calathes registered game-highs in points (17) and assists (9) while Bourousis added 15 points and 9 rebounds. Chris Singleton (16 points, 6 rebounds) and Mike James (14 points) also dropped double-digit numbers while 2017 NBA draft prospect Michalis Lountzis had 5 points.
For AEK, that was nowhere near the highly competitive performances of the three previous games, Roko Leni Ukic had 14 points, Loukas Mavrokefalidis 12 and Dimitris Mavroeidis 13 points.
Panathinaikos is now waiting to find its opponent in the Finals between Olympiacos and Aris. The Reds are leading the series 2 – 0 and are playing the third game at home on Thursday (25/5) following today’s return from Istanbul and the EuroLeague Final Four.
