PAOK withstood Aris’ comeback from a 15-point deficit to ultimately win the historic Greek League “Thessaloniki derby” 63 – 57.
Lucky Jones scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds for PAOK while Ilias Margaritis added 11 points, four blocks plus a decisive block on Giannis Athinaiou with the score 59 – 55 and one minute remaining.
The latter had 20 points was the main figure behind his team’s fourth-quarter comeback after falling behind 54 – 39 at the end of the third. Aris approached 54 – 53 with 3:55 left but didn’t manage to get any closer.
Earlier, AEK beat Koroivos and Promitheas downed Kymi behind 13 3-pointers.
