AEK Athens beat Olympiacos 66-62 in the final game of Day 8 in the Greek league.
The key: Midway through the final period, the visitors put pressure on AEK, yet the latter managed to stay up with short leads until the end.
Dragan Sakota’s squad had a powerful start in the first period, leading their visitors with 22-12. The momentum didn’t change much in the second, though Olympiacos bounced back with a 25-17 run. Still, the hosts led 39-37 at halftime.
The star: Manny Harris finished the game with 15 points and 9 rebounds
Not enough: Jamel McLean’s double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds couldn’t help the Piraeus side reach the win.
Earlier in the day, Panathinaikos had an easy evening against Aris.
