The 44 points that Rethymno guard Stefan Moody posted in the 102 – 97 overtime loss to Koroivos Amaliada are the most that any player has scored in a single Greek League game over the last 12 (!) years.
Moody had the best scoring performance in the championship since Keydren Clark’s 51 points, registered in a game between Egaleo and AEL (82 – 63) back on October 18, 2006.
The player of Rethymno surpassed Billy Keys and the 42 points he had notched in AEL – AEK (86 – 78) in March 2008.
Moody’s performance was sensational but he couldn’t celebrate it as much as he would like since Koroivos won the match behind 21 points by Marcus Posley.
Earlier, Vassilis Kavvadas’12 points and Giannoulis Larentzakis’ 11 plus 6 assists helped AEK beat Aris Thessaloniki in a classic Greek League matchup.
