Olympiacos closed Week 18 in the Greek League by beating Rethymno 86 – 66 on the road to register their fourth victory in a row.
The Reds were particularly potent from range since they fired 15 (out of 32 attempts) three-pointers to tie the franchise’s third-best record in the Greek League. Rethymno, that was trailing from start to finish, didn’t have a cure against such a shooting performance.
Ioannis Papapetrou scored a team-high 16 points for Olympiacos while captain Vassilis Spanoulis added 15 points plus 8 assists. Bobby Brown contributed 14 points in his best performance with the jersey of the team.
Shaquille Goodwin posted a game-highs 17 points/8 rebounds and Stephan Moody added 15 points and 5 rebounds for Rethymno.
Yesterday, Panathinaikos crushed Panionios at home to remain the only undefeated team in the championship. AEK, Lavrio, and Promitheas got some important wins for the battle for the Top 4 this week.
