Rethymno could only keep up with Panathinaikos in the first ten minutes of the contest (21-23). Since halftime, Xavi Pascual’s team had 16-point lead (39-55) and never looked back. The double-digit deficit even increased to 30+ points in the final period of the game (55-88), despite Stefan Moody’s impressive performance of 32 points for the home side. The game eventually ended 69-103.
The visitors finished the contest with seven players in double-digits, while eleven of the twelve players scored. Ian Vougioukas led the way with 17 points and nine rebounds. Lukas Lekavicius added 15 points (5/5 FG) in what was an efficient afternoon.
*Panathinaikos improved this undefeated record to 22-0, while Rethymno slipped to an 8-14 record.
