Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos issued a response to the statement by Olympiacos presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Aggelopoulos.
An article appeared on Giannakopoulos owned media that included a sound file with Olympiacos forward Giorgos Printezis saying that he won’t play in a EuroLeague game due to unpaid salaries. Aggelopoulos brothers mentioned that the problem is settled and accused Giannakopoulos of “cheap manipulations” ahead of the Greek Cup semifinal games between the two archrivals.
Giannakopoulos’ statement is as follows:
“Regarding the expectedly amusing announcement of the brothers, I have to state this:
Player Giorgos Printezis isn’t the one heard on the sound file, but I am.
Olympiacos isn’t the one owing money to the player Printezis, but I am.
The file wasn’t leaked from an Olympiacos player, but from… me
Also, I emphasize:
I am responsible for all the articles against them since – as it is known – I’m behind all the media, Greek and foreign, web and press.
I am responsible for the prorogation of their company running due to debts of hundreds of million euros.
I am responsible that their “team’s mirror”, constantly reflects losses.
I am responsible for the fact that they were apparently absent from spelling lessons … (Giannakopoulos mentions a Greek word that was misspelled in Aggelopoulos’ statement)
And yes, finally, I admit that I’m responsible for the ozone layer and global warming.
P.S. I honestly wish that we won’t allow them to go against our team in any way with our attitude tomorrow. Everyone present, everyone allied for our Panathinaikos and against violence.
