A few days after the Greek Cup Semifinal and Olympiacos’ decision to not return for the second half, David Blatt shared his view talking to Israeli Sport 5. “It was a very difficult situation. I fully support the owners and the management, but I don’t necessarily agree with the decision” he mentioned.
The 59-year-old coach went on explaining: “I am new here. I don’t have a long-term view on the situation. However, the team made the decision to take a stand in hope of a change in favor of fairness”.
The Reds were since punished for abandoning the match. Six points were deducted from their total in the Greek Basket League dropping them to the sixth spot of the standings.
